Designing for gravity, wind & time

Make
strength visible.

I design structural systems that read clearly from the first sketch to the final connection: efficient load paths, buildable details, rigorous analysis, and resilience engineered into every line.

02 / Profile

Structure is
a conversation.

Good engineering makes forces legible. My practice connects conceptual framing, structural analysis, detailing, and construction thinking so architecture can stay ambitious without asking the structure to become mysterious.

03 / Systems

The force
map.

Expertise is shown as a connection diagram rather than a conventional progress bar: the more nodes are lit, the more central the system is to my day-to-day practice.

Steel & composite

Moment frames, braced systems, composite floor behavior, connection strategy, and constructability reviews.

Seismic design

Ductile systems, drift control, irregularity studies, and performance-minded strengthening strategies.

Concrete & retrofit

RC frames, shear walls, strengthening schemes, condition assessment, and phased intervention planning.

Analysis & BIM

FEA workflows, structural modeling, coordination, design automation, and drawing-to-model quality control.

04 / Selected work

Where the
loads travel.

A selection of structural challenges where geometry, material efficiency, and construction logic had to resolve into one coherent system.

01 / Transit-adjacent mixed use · 18 stories

Frame that opens the plan.

Developed a hybrid steel-and-composite lateral system around a demanding ground-floor public realm, coordinating transfer conditions and drift targets while protecting the architectural grid.

02 / Heritage retrofit

Strength without erasure.

Mapped existing masonry capacity and introduced discreet steel reinforcement to improve lateral performance while preserving the original character.

03 / Long-span civic roof

Lightness, held.

Optimized a long-span truss geometry to reduce tonnage and simplify erection sequencing without compromising vibration performance.

05 / Method

Read the
whole system.

The TrussTide method moves from forces to form, then from form to a buildable set of decisions.

01

Trace the load path

Clarify gravity, lateral, transfer, and accidental load paths before geometry becomes expensive to change.

Concept
02

Test the behavior

Model the governing behavior, challenge assumptions, and use analysis to answer design questions rather than simply generate numbers.

Analysis
03

Detail the connection

Resolve interfaces, tolerances, sequencing, and reinforcement or steelwork details with construction in mind.

Detailing
04

Close the feedback loop

Coordinate with architects, contractors, and specialist teams so the engineered intent survives contact with the real site.
